CASA of the Coastal Bend is making an urgent plea for the community to step up and speak up for Children who are victims of abuse and neglect. In 2014, 741 children, which equates to about 30 classrooms – right here in our local community found themselves in foster care. Why should YOU step up and speak up? Simple, these children are the future of the Coastal Bend and each child deserves a dedicated CASA – Court Appointed Special Advocate who will commit to finding them a safe, permanent and forever home.

FIGHT HUNGER, SUPPORT CHILDREN, IMPROVE HEALTH, REDUCE HOMELESSNESS – RIGHT HERE IN THE COASTAL BEND. CASA is honored to be a part of the day of giving. Your donations to CASA of the Coastal Bend support the recruitment, training and supervision of volunteers who serve our community’s abused and neglected children.
How will my donation help a child? Very simply, donations allow for the recruitment, training and constant management of CASA volunteers who advocate for the most vulnerable children in our community. Our volunteers will be assigned to the most complicated cases of child abuse and neglect – serving a critical role in ensuring that no child slips through the cracks of an overburdened system. Our volunteers serve as the eyes and ears of the court, affording judges, who will ultimately decide the permanent placement for a child, the opportunity to make those decisions based on all of the information. Maybe, most importantly, our volunteers will be a constant caring adult in a child’s life until the child is returned home or adopted into a safe and permanent home with a loving family.

Why should you give?

This is your chance to double your donation to charities that work for the most vulnerable in our community, meeting basic needs, providing emergency services and support to break the cycle.

How do you give?

To participate, simply click on the Coastal Bend Day of Giving logo above, find your charity or charities under Nonprofits and use the shopping cart to make a donation with your credit card, debit card or bank account ($10 minimum).
